Working as a volunteer, whether within your local community or further afield, is tremendously fulfilling and can be an excellent way to find out whether you'd like a career in social work. In fact, most degree courses require some evidence of volunteer or unqualified social care work along with your academic qualifications.

If you are interested in volunteering, you'll need to contact the specific volunteer organisations directly.

  • You can check notice boards in your local library
  • You can contact the social services department in your local council or check the notice board at your town Hall.
